Meet Dr. Bauerschmidt, Functional Medicine Doctor

Dr. Bauerschmidt is a former emergency room doctor who found himself immersed in functional medicine following a car accident that left him in debilitating pain. When Western medicine failed to give him relief, he turned to more natural methods of healing. He recovered and went on to found Full Potential Healthcare in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a successful functional medicine clinic.

Dr. Bauerschmidt is not one to mask the symptoms; his goal is to uncover the root cause of the symptom and treat it. He does not believe in one-size-fits-all programs. Every patient is biochemically unique and therefore needs to be treated with customized care specifically tailored to the patient and his or her needs.

Through his practice, as well as his own experience, Dr. Bauerschmidt realized in order for a patient to fully heal from a chronic condition or illness, they had to first remove the environmental toxicants from their body. At Healing at Sweetgrass, Dr. Bauerschmidt utilizes his advanced depuration and DEEPER Healing® protocols to treat patients who are suffering from conditions including hormone imbalance, chronic fatigue, depression, Crohn’s Disease and arthritis.

Dr. Bauerschmidt received his medical degree from Ohio State University and completed his residency in Family Practice at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. He has advanced training in environmental medicine and is certified in chelation therapy by the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) where he serves as president of the college.
