IV Chelation Therapy in Charleston, SC
Are you suffering from fatigue and weight gain without any reason why? You may be experiencing toxicity from heavy metals. Healing at Sweetgrass offers IV chelation therapy to residents in Charleston and Summerville, SC, who are in need of metal detoxification.
What is IV Chelation Therapy?
IV chelation therapy is a treatment used to remove heavy metals from the body by intravenously injecting EDTA into the bloodstream. EDTA is a synthetic amino acid that binds heavy metals and minerals such as lead, iron, copper, cadmium, aluminum and calcium and holds them tightly so they can be excreted in the urine. Chelation therapy is FDA approved for the treatment of heavy metal poisoning.
In addition to EDTA, Healing at Sweetgrass uses two other chelating agents, DMPS and DMSA, to remove mercury and lead from the body. We take advantage of all three chelating agents as we have found that a multimodal approach is most effective at quickly and safely removing heavy metals.
What are the Benefits of IV Chelation?
Heavy metal toxicity has been linked to many chronic conditions, including heart disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetic neuropathy and renal disease, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, chronic fatigue and cancer. Over the course of a day, you may be exposed to at least 35 different types of metals. And although your body needs many of these metals to function properly, toxic metals can wreak havoc on your health.
Toxic metals, including lead and mercury, have been linked to the acceleration of plaque in the arteries. While the exact mechanism of how it works is still being investigated, EDTA has been shown to reduce the production of products that promote clogged arteries by eliminating toxic metals. It has been shown to reduce the incidence of a second heart attack by the TACT trial. There are thousands of anecdotal reports and a few clinical studies showing improved blood flow in arteries of the heart, carotids and extremities.
Backed By Science – Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy (TACT)
The TACT study was the first large-scale trial used to determine the efficacy of chelation therapy. The clinical trial found chelation therapy reduces the risk of cardiovascular events. This proved evident especially in patients with diabetes. Throughout the study more than 55,000 chelation infusions were administered with no complications, proving it to be safe and effective. A second study, TACT2, is now currently underway and in the early stages.
Am I a Candidate for IV Chelation Therapy?
If you suffer from heart disease or diabetes, you may be a likely candidate for IV chelation therapy. Also, if you are experiencing unexplained fatigue or weight gain, IV chelation may be able to help eliminate toxic metals that may be interfering with your hormones and immune system. Dr. Bauerschmidt has developed a three-pronged chelation protocol that removes metals and plaque faster than traditional IV chelation methods, saving you time, money, and most importantly, your health.
How Much Does IV Chelation Therapy Cost?
We offer several different bundled chelation packages that offer a significant discount over individual treatments. The right package for you depends on your particular condition or detoxification needs. Costs will be discussed during your consultation.
